Easter

Over Easter I have done further research into designs using smart materials but linking these to what we discussed in our last group meeting. I have also been researching different smart materials on the 'Mindsets' online website and deciding how such materials could be used within our project. I then started to think about relating them to our theme of an environmental change. I have two ideas so far, one is of some form of tshirt that is white however when it rains, rather than turning see through, an image appears. I also thought that this could link to old/new Manchester, however it doesn't link as much with the idea of pollution. My other idea is something that glows in the dark. I have experimented with some glow in the dark paint on different fabrics. This could link well with out theme thinking about light pollution, and energy saving techniques. I also thought of a garment containing LEDs that respond to when it becomes dark, getting brighter as it gets darker. It is the idea that the person would almost become the streetlamp.
